ourPHILOSOPHY

Tax practice dwells at the border of the legal and accounting professions. Accordingly, we fervently believe that it is important for attorneys and accountants to collaboratively discuss issues topical in the area of taxation in order to promote the principled development of tax law and practice in the Caribbean.
LAW
The majority of lawyers licensed to practice law in the Caribbean are holders of the Legal Education Certificate (LEC), which is issued by the Council of Legal Education. The Council has been in existence for over 40 years and trains legal practitioners in the Commonwealth Caribbean at regional law schools located in Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
ACCOUNTING
Statistically, the leading designation for accounting professionals in the Caribbean is the ACCA. ACCA is a global body for professional accountants with over 162,000 members and 428,000 students in 173 countries. ACCA qualifications are based on international accounting standards making them globally relevant.
